Search with a question in mind

Tangbuy Spreadsheet Search Ideas

Start with what you still need to learn about the item. A product type and one unanswered question will usually get you further than a long string of broad terms.

01

Start with the product, not the spreadsheet

Write down the item you want and how you plan to use it. “Daily backpack for a 13-inch laptop” gives you a better basis for comparison than “good bag.”

Next, add the one detail most likely to rule an option in or out.

hoodie + chest measurementssneakers + insole lengthbag + inside dimensions
02

Use a source name only when you need the original listing

Taobao, Weidian, 1688, Yupoo, and Xianyu describe different kinds of source pages. Add one of these names when you are tracing where a spreadsheet row came from, not as a shortcut for judging quality.

Once you find a possible source, compare the item title, selected option, seller details, images, and date with the row you saved. A familiar marketplace name does not prove that the match is correct.

03

Keep the product category narrow

Shoes, hoodies, bags, watches, and electronics do not need the same evidence. Choose the closest category so the results share useful points of comparison.

If an item sits between two categories, use the one tied to the bigger risk. A laptop pouch is a bag when internal dimensions matter most; it is an accessory when compatibility is the harder question.

Match a category to its checks
04

Name the missing proof

Ask for the evidence you cannot see in the row: paired shoe photos, a flat garment measurement, the inside of a bag, a clasp close-up, or packed dimensions.

When you find photos, confirm that they belong to the same item and option. When you find a chart, check the units and measurement method before comparing numbers.

05

Treat converted links as new routes

A link converter may reformat a source URL for another interface. It does not confirm the seller, item, option, stock, or photo set, and this site does not provide a converter.

After conversion, compare the visible domain, item identifier, title, options, and images with the original row. If they cannot be reconciled, mark the link as uncertain.

06

When a broad search becomes noisy

Do not keep adding words at random. Return to the intended use and choose one missing detail. If the results still mix unrelated items, narrow the category before adding another condition.

07

When a saved link stops working

The source page may have expired, the item or option may have changed, or the converted URL may be malformed. Check the visible domain and any item identifier before looking for a replacement.

A replacement is not equivalent just because the title looks similar. Match the seller, option, images, and current terms; otherwise remove the row from the shortlist.

Keep the question useful

A longer phrase is not always more precise

Keep only the words that change what you expect to find or compare.

Instead of

Describing an item as “best,” “trusted,” or “must-have” before you have seen the practical details.

Try

Name the product and one decision-changing detail, such as hoodie chest width or bag opening size.
